I had great fun photoing Miguel (an American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer) for Getty Images last night. It was a front of house shoot which is a mixed blessing for photographers. On one hand you’re a long way from the stage and are looking through waves of raised hands (and raised phones). But on the other you get to enjoy the light show and the visuals as if you were in the crowd. It was a great show […]
i had the pleasure of photoing Bernie Griffen And The Thin Men on Friday night. I’d heard of Bernie Griffen before but never properly listened to his music. As i prepared for the show i listened to the new ‘Doors Wide Open’ album and loved its words and melodies. Live it was even better ! Photos taken for UnderTheRadar. I really enjoyed The Lowest Fidelity. I was expecting a chap and a guitar (not a bad thing by the way) and what we got was a brit punk inspired racket. And a wild jovial front man with a good line in punter patter! A great support band for Bernie Griffen and The Thin Men. Photos taken for UnderTheRadar. Read more about The Lowest Fidelity here
I like a bit of doomy goth music and Ave Teth ticked all the boxes. They were playing at Whammy Bar, Auckland supporting the amazing hackedepicciotto. I got to photo them for the lovely people at UnderTheRadar
I was lucky enough to get to photo The Brian Jonestown Massacre on Saturday night. I photoed them a few years back too and they were the same shambolic genius! When they are motoring, these guys take you off to another planet and tonight had all the highs (and between song frustrations) of a classic BJM show. Highly recommended! (with thanks to UnderTheRadar )
Auckland psychedelia-ists Arthur Ahbez supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre and were as excellent as ever. I’ve seen them in venues big and small and this show was one of the best! They are one of my favourite local bands. (with thanks to UnderTheRadar )

The Imagine Dragons were awesome to shoot. lots of running about, lots of confetti, big stage, great lights!
