I had the immense privilege of photoing the Auckland Youth Orchestra. It’s quite a different experience photoing an orchestra compared to a rock concert, but great fun! “We are so very grateful for the marvellous photos you took at the Town Hall for us a couple of weeks ago – thank you! The whole AYO Executive Committee was delighted.”

Great fun to photo MC50 the other week. Known as MC50 for Alice Cooper’s “Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back” tour, the supergroup features MC5’s Wayne Kramer joined by guitarist Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), bassist Doug Pinnick (King’s X), and frontman Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla). It’s been a good few weeks for photoing proper legends. Poor Elton John had walking pneumonia on the night we got to photo him so he had to cut his show short after 2 hours. He seemed to be in good fighting form during the first song, and the fifth song we got to photo him!
