Here’s a funny thing. Stockholm (the place) has popped up in conversation twice in the last fortnight and i was reminded of my own visits to Stockholm when i lived in Europe. I went a few times, both in winter and in summer and i instantled loved the city and people. As part of my reminiscences i went to have a look at some of the photos i took , and while browsing remembered i’d seen the band Arab Strap one night […]
Aldous Harding live at the Hollywood Cinema, Auckland for UnderTheRadar. See the photos on UnderTheRadar here: Aldous’ show was just amazing and quite an eye opener. She’a already an amazing folk singer, but her latest tunes (and reworking of the old ones) brings a new confidence. Her live shows are always intense affairs as she seems to inhabit her songs, but the live band freed her up even more and we even got some Aldous dancing! She’s just signed to 4AD […]
Ijebu Pleasure Club played live at Silo Park, Auckland this weekend so i popped down to capture their afro beat magic on a perfect summer’s day. The crowd loved it and so will you so if you get a chance to see them, do it! And take your dancing shoes as music is a hundred times more fun if you shake your body along to it!
Today was the public opening of the Queens Wharf Lighthouse sculpture in Auckland. As part of the celebrations Lawrence Arabia performed in the house with Sam and Luke from the Phoenix Foundation. It was a little strange looking in at them through the window like there were a zoo exhibit, but they sounded great and looked to be having all the funs 🙂
I popped in to the Auckland Tattoo Show today. Excellent stuff and really nice people. Will definitely pop back next year!

i had the enormous privilege of taking photos of the legendary PJ Harvey playing live at the Logan Campbell Centre, Auckland 24 January 2017 thanks to UnderTheRadar.co.nz . Pop across there and see the photos there too.
A couple of arty shots i made of The Hendrix Project who were playing at the Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance. and just for a bit of fun, here are some other photos from my afternoon wanderings at the festival:
Luckily i’m still on holiday from work so i was able to whizz in to town this lunchtime to watch the amazing Borneo. They’ve been touring New Zealand (with support from Dave Weir) and having a great time by all accounts, but unfortunately i’d missed them. This was their last date before they leave New Zealand and they threw everything in to it. I knew they had great songs (check out their website and facebook pages) and the live performance […]
I caught a couple of hours of the amazing Elvis In The Park festival at Cranwell Park, Henderson , Auckland. It was an excellent festival of all things Elvis Presley and i highly recommend you pop along to similar events if you get the chance!
