I caught a couple of hours of the amazing Elvis In The Park festival at Cranwell Park, Henderson , Auckland. It was an excellent festival of all things Elvis Presley and i highly recommend you pop along to similar events if you get the chance!

The amazing So Laid Back Country China live at Aotea Square, 3 December 2016. Just two out of the usual four piece, playing a range of tracks from their new album and old material. Unfortunately I was only able to stay for the first 20 minutes as i had another appointment to go to. I’ve been wanting to see this Wellington based band for ages, so it was great to finally catch them (albeit briefly)
There was a real carnival theme to First Thursdays this month, none more so than these Brazilian Divas shimmying up and down K Rd to the sound of the Ak Samba drummers. Quite an amazing sight and sound!
The awesome fun and amazing Soul Samba Circus live at K Rd, First Thursdays 1 December 2016. Such a great band to listen to. Another one of those amazing Auckland bands i’ve ‘discovered’ recently where i’ve left with a smile on my face
Capoeira Mandinga Aotearoa at K Rd First Thursdays 1 December 2016. I’d not come across Capoeira before. It was fascinating to watch and listen to with its combination of hypnotic music and friendly combat-dance. I recommend you investigate further. This was the Capoeira Mandinga Aotearoa which you can find more about here

The band, the sound, the lights (and awesome lighting guy). They had it all! What a musical treat this week has been. First The Mission then two days later The Cult at the same venue. Both bands […]
