Any Unknown Mortal Orchestra is special. Last time i saw them was New Year’s eve at the beginning of this year as part of the Wondergarden festival. The time before that was during the temporary reopening of the St James theatre.
Last night was at the Auckland Town hall and was a family affair as frontman Ruban Neilson’s brother Kodi is now in the band on drums. Also appearing on stage this evening was Ruban and Kodi’s dad. And later in the show (after we’d finished photoing) Kodi’s wife Bic Runga joined them on stage too.
